The first of my weekly Blogs that outlines my first week in Alganon, my impressions and thoughts, and news about founding my guild: The Scions of Xi!

Greetings!

Today marks the end of my first week in Alganon, and I will be the first to tell you how amazed I am! The game itself is great, and trust me I could go on about that, but there are other key points I think are more important. In my experience so far, the community here has been outstanding. Not only are the posts and threads relevant and interesting, but the Developers play an active role in the day to day function of the community. I must admit I havent seen this kind of support since my early Ultima Online days! That is quite a complement in my book, too.

So far everything has gone pretty smoothly. The website is laid out well, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading every scrap of game information I could. Also, the MyAlganon site, which still has some minor kinks, seems like it will be a really good way to help keep you connected to the community as a whole! One thing I really enjoy is the RSS blog feeds and the Guild and player Groups! I will give a special shout out to Grymmoire for being my first Friend Invite and for his many quality posts! I am looking forward to seeing what kind of functionality we will eventually see out of it in the coming weeks as we approach Public Beta!

I have had quite a busy week. At first I dug into the forums and jumped in on the many great conversations and topics there, and then I decided to write a piece of player fiction! Thats right, the very first part of my Character fiction rolled hot off the press the other day: Sermons of the Seventh Age Part 1: The Assassins Doubt. If you havent read it yet, I encourage you to go by the World and History Forum and check it out! Let me know what you think too! It is the first small part of my 10 part story, and quite a cliffhanger! I want to give a special thanks to QOL-Berek for noticing it. Hopefully we will see more player fiction soon: expect the next part of the story tomorrow!

After that I was on a roll, and I decided to found my very own Guild! After some consideration I decided I was in a great position to be a Guildmaster and started working on the site that very evening. Needless to say after three days of hard work, the site is finally up and running! Feel free to head by http://scionsofxi.guildlaunch.com/ and check out the new home of the Scions of Xi! It will be the greatest Kujixian Guild in Alganon history! If youre interested in joining, please feel free to fill out and application! Make sure to check back over the next couple weeks to see how the site is progressing, and make sure to send me any suggestions you have as well.

I think that about sums up my first Blog. I will be posting up a new weekly Blog every Sunday from here on out. So if you see me out and about on the Forums, or stop by my Guild site to join, make sure to say Hi and keep up the good posts, I might just give a shout out to you next week!

Glad to see you have come down with an infectious case of Alganonitis!! Fortunately for all of us also so striken, the only fatality is enthusiasm and anxiety for the game to begin. Interesting and quality games are few and far in between it seems.

Your posts have been insightful and well-crafted. I especially am looking forward to Part 2 (let alone the remaining 8 more parts thereafter) of your Sermons of the Seventh Age, for as you noted, Part 1 ended in a cliffhanger and now I am intrigued to see what happens next. I think a weekly blog will be interesting to read; keep up the good work and cheers!!

Early days of UO eh? If you began when it released or even in the first few years of it's release, you were a fairly young whippersnapper by my reckoning heh!

also agree on the quality of the blogs and the forums so far, I won't claim to be a mmo vet having only stumbled upon them through wow which I joined on its launch day by pure chance I had no idea what I was getting myself into. What I found ther at the very begining was a mature and very enjoyable experience that I threw myself into and with all the things that I feel started to let that game down the biggest by far was the way that the community slumped as the years progressed into insults and greed, I felt my days on mmo's were over. Then through pure luck once again I stumbled across this site and the dream is alive once more but now I'm in a catch 22 do I scream about it from the rooftops or keep it as my little secret....tough call.

Great blog mate and look forward to reading more and any insite as to what the game plays like would be hugely appreciated.
